During April 19th - 25th, 2004 the personnel within the Ministry of Administration and Interior recorded 1,378 events by completing their assignments in the field of public order and safety.
Police specialists identified 559 crimes out of which 99 of economic-financial nature and 278 judicial nature. They had also applied about 38.491 sanctions for minor offences, the sum of the fees being over 19,5 billions Rol.
There had also been recorded traffic accidents resulting in 19 deceased and 100 seriously injured persons.
A number of approximately 7.270 gendarmes accomplished 8.100 missions for keeping and preserving the public order and almost 7.150 gendarmes guarded 1.080 objectives of high interest. During the same interval of time 930 gendarmes completed intervention missions to the pipes for transporting the gas products on a distance of over 1.200 km.
The Border Police personnel - based on the Safe Frontier-European Frontier Programme - applied 2.171 sanctions for minor offences and took over in order to seize goods coming up to an amount over 10,7 billions Rol. 270 persons were retained for investigations and a number of 41.626 Romanian citizens, who did not fulfil the legal conditions, were not allowed to exit the country. According to the readmission agreements, 859 Romanian citizens were returned.
The Military Fire fighters intervened in the case of 435 events out of which 192 were fires and in 176 emergency situations granted the first-aid.
