Today, the Government has adopted the final form of two draft laws on which it will assume responsibility in Parliament, the Executive accepting four amendments of lawmakers to the draft law on measures needed to restore budgetary balance and an amendment to the draft law on some measures related to pensions, Prime Minister Emil Boc has announced.
The four amendments to the draft law on measures needed to restore budget balance, initiated by lawmakers from PDL, UDMR and independent group, aim at:
 stating explicitly that the social allowance for pensioners, granted according the Government Emergency Ordinance no. 6 / 2009 on the establishment of minimum guaranteed social pension, approved by Law 196/2009, will not go below 350 RON;
 Establishing that measures to reduce incomes of state employees and retirees will be enforced since the entry into force of the law, but not since June, as the draft law originally stipulated. In this respect, Prime Minister explained that the procedure of Government responsibility assumption in Parliament began in May and will end in June,
 Enforcing the measure to reduce by 25% the salaries paid from lump sums of lawmakers and for the staff of Senators and Deputies' offices. These amounts are provided by art.38, paragraph 1, of Law no. 96/2006 on the Status of Deputies and Senators, republished.
 Enforcing of 25% reduction measure for the income of members of the Academy of Medical Sciences. Prime Minister explained that this decision was taken "for equal treatment”, this measure being equally enforced to the members of the Romanian Academy, members of the members of the Academy of Science, and members of the Academy of Technical Sciences of Romania.

The Government has also adopted an amendment to the draft law on some measures on pensions. In this respect, the Government has decided that the way of granting disability pensions to be checked over within maximum a year, not in three years as the draft law originally stipulated.
Prime Minister has reiterated that this draft law aims to eliminate special privileges and pensions, arguing that by the recalculation of 8236 special pensions, 60,000 average pensions will be paid in one month.
"One cannot diminish the regular pensions and maintain luxury pensions. This is why we came up with this second draft law, at the package with first" PM Emil Boc has stated.
