“The Romanian Car Registry” (RAR) State Owned Company has been designated as competent authority for the collection and communication to the European Commission of the information necessary to the supervision of the average of specific CO2 emissions produced by new cars (according to Decision 1753/ 2000/ EC of the European Parliament and Council) through a Decision adopted on yesterday's Government meeting
The Environment and Sustainable Development Ministry will inform the European Commission about this decision.
The Driving licenses and Vehicles Registration Directorate (DRPCIV) within the Interior and Administrative Reform Ministry will make available to RAR, every year, until February 15, namely in 60 days since the entering into force of the current Government Decision for the current year, the data on the new cars registered in Romania during the previous year.
The conditions and modality of date conveyance will be set whereby a protocol about to be signed between RAR and DRPCIV.
