National Mourning Day on April 18, 2010, in memory of the victims of Smolensk aviation tragedy
The Government has decided to declare national mourning day in Romania on April 18, 2010, in memory of victims of Smolensk aircraft crash which killed 96 people, including President Lech Kaczynski and his wife Maria Kaczynski.
On April 18th, all institutions and local and central authorities of Romania will display the flag at half mast. The flag is flown at half mast at the headquarters of political parties, trade unions, employers, educational institutions, cultural institutions and diplomatic missions of Romania and border crossing points - in airports and railway stations, the Spokesperson for the Executive, Mrs. Ioana Muntean has stated .
Also, the national radio and television stations and cultural institutions will have to adjust their schedule accordingly.
