PM Calin Popescu - Tariceanu has informed the Cabinet members about his yesterday's meeting with the newly elected mayor of Bucharest, Mr. Sorin Oprescu
Prime Minister has specified that there has been an informal, good discussion which aimed at the major projects of Bucharest whose achievement implies support on the part of the Government.
Prime Minister has showed that traffic is the main problem for Bucharest and considered the launching of projects in transport vital.
The Head of Government has informed the members of the Cabinet that he intends to have a discussion with the general and district mayors after they are sworn in. “Bucharest must be treated with all the attention as it produces 20 percent of Romania's GDP and concentrates 10 percent of the population. Bucharest needs a comprehensive urban plan”, PM Tariceanu has stated.
The Head of the Executive has emphasized that the Government shows readiness in cooperating with the local administration for projects which can be developed in citizens' benefit.
