PM Victor Ponta had a meeting with representatives of Oracle at Victoria Palace

During the meeting, Ms. Safra Catz has expressed her appreciation for the high level of training of young Romanians and has showed that Oracle is one of the companies that undertook a long term commitment in Romania, especially since the company management is very pleased with the way the branch here works given an increase of a few hundred to 2,500 jobs. She has also pointed out that Oracle will continue to develop its presence in Romania and, in any other expansion in South-Eastern European area, our country will be in the centre of it, since it is considered a particularly attractive market because of the perfect combination of the technical abilities of the youth and the fact that they speak very well many foreign languages.
In turn, Prime Minister Victor Ponta has expressed gratitude for the confidence shown by Oracle Romania and has noted both the importance of investment in education, and also the huge development potential of the country, this tendency being emphasized by macroeconomic figures too.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister has told the Oracle representatives that the Government’s ambition is that in a few years, our country to become a regional hub for companies like this and a leader in several areas, including IT. Given the tough competition on the market, PM Victor Ponta has expressed the Romanian side’s determination to provide very attractive conditions to foreign companies.
