PM Victor Ponta, on official visit to Germany and Slovakia

Prime Minister Victor Ponta will be between 10 to 11 June in an official visit to Germany and Slovakia, at the invitation of his counterparts. The government delegation will be Monday and Tuesday in Berlin, Stuttgart and Bratislava for a series of meetings at the highest political level, but also for a series of economic contacts.
On this occasion, PM Victor Ponta will meet with Mrs. Angela Merkel, Federal Chancellor of Germany, and Mr. Robert Fico, Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic.
Given that last visit at this level took place in Berlin in 2006, Prime Minister Victor Ponta’s objectives aim at strengthening political and economic relations, current bilateral and European issues are to be addressed. Also, an important element of this visit is to encourage German investment in Romania, the last few months bringing new projects worth hundreds of millions of euro. In this respect, Prime Minister Victor Ponta will meet at the Deutsche Bank HQ with the bank management and will participate in a debate with a number of potential investors interested in the opportunities offered by Romania.
The Prime Minister will give an address on Romania’s progressive road in today’s Europe, at Friedrich Ebert Foundation. Following the official meeting in Berlin with German Chancellor, there will take place meetings in Stuttgart, with Daimler officials, who recently announced an investment of over 300 million EUR in our country.
Also, high-level political meetings will also be in Stuttgart with Prime Minister of Baden-Wurttemberg.
In the second half of the 11 June, there will be a visit to Slovakia. Meetings with the President and, respectively, with the Prime Minister of Slovakia are meant to confirm the excellent bilateral relations with Slovakia, as well as to mark the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations. The last visit at Prime Minister level took place on 27 November 2012 in Bucharest, when Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, met with Prime Minister Victor Ponta.
