PM Victor Ponta sent his British counterpart, David Cameron, a letter in which he extends condolences on his behalf and the Romanian Government, at the passing away of former British Prime Minister, Baroness Margaret Thatcher.

"I was deeply saddened to learn the news of the death of Baroness Margaret Thatcher, outstanding personality, remarkable politician and important leader of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. On behalf of myself and the Romanian Government, I wish to offer our sincere condolences and to convey our sympathy and solidarity to her family and the British people ".
