The Government has approved the tourism marketing and promotion Program and the Program for tourist products development for 2006, with the view of boosting the visibility of Romania's tourism opportunities.
The two programs are financed from the budget of the Ministry of Transports, Constructions and Tourism with “5 millions EUR, out of which 60% for promotion and 40% for development”, Mr. Ovidiu Marian, Head of the National Authority for Tourism (ANT) has stated.
Mr. Ovidiu Marian has pointed out that “it was necessary a signal from the Government to support the tourist activity, especially in the areas affected by the bird flu”.
Thus, these programs will allow “the integral financing or the up to 50%, co - financing together with various partners - local authorities, NGOs or professional associations - both of the promotion programs and the tourism development programs”, the Head of the ANT has stated.
The tourism marketing and promotion program aims at promoting the tourist products of Romania on the internal market and the main tourist markets abroad. “For the first time further to 1989, about one million EUR has been allotted to promote the Romanian tourism on the internal market”, Mr. Ovidiu Marian has stated.
The program aims at:
- Unfolding marketing integrated communication activities with the view of improving Romania's image from the tourist point of view on the internal and international market;
- Promoting Romania's tourist products with the view of boosting the internal and international tourist circulation;
- Promoting tourist products according to the interest specific to each market;
By this program, there will be financed up to 100% projects on: printing of booklets, folders, posters, presentation banners, films to promote the general tourist offer, CDs, DVDs, posters as well as the creation of specific advertising or protocol objects;
Also, there are financed the specific tourism protection actions on internal and international market, among which the:
- Participation in internal and international fairs and exhibitions;
- Specific activities of public relations, organization of documentation visits for mass media representatives, tour - operators and poll trainers abroad;
- Organization of events for the promotion of Romanian tourist offer;
- Organization of itinerant promotion actions(road -shows) abroad;
The program of the tourist products development aims at the durable development of Romanian tourism.
Mr. Ovidiu Marian has stated that “there is especially aimed at the creation of a framework for boosting the services quality through the financing of the tourism personnel training”.
The persons who will benefit of financing in the training programs will be contractually compelled to remain in the tourism field. “Training programs will be financed if the employer signs long period contracts on three or five years, with persons who benefit of this training”, the Head of ANT has further stated.
The program aims at:
- Elaborating the tourism development strategies;
- Developing the tourist products;
- Sustaining the investments projects in tourism;
- Boosting the quality of services in tourism;
- Sustaining the tourist education and the specialized professional training through the system for the adults professional training;
By this program, there will be financed up to 100% the following:
- Studies on the tourism development and the internal and international tourist market conjuncture (tourist products, regions, trends on internal and international market);
- Programs for the education and the development of durable tourism;
- Development of the software and the internet field, related to the authorization, license, control of the tourist activity;
- Issuance of guides on the activity of classification, license, attestation in tourism and the legislation in the tourism field;
There will be up to maximum 50% co - financed the programs for the professional training of adults of the tourist sector and the tourist education field, as well as programs for the improvement of the quality of tourism services.
