The Government will start several actions at the level of local and central public administrations in an attempt to cut carbon dioxide emissions, Prime Minister Calin Popescu-Tariceanu has stated at the beginning of today's Government meeting

Prime Minister has asked the Ministry of Economy and Finance to come up with a programme for reducing greenhouse gas emissions generated by heating in buildings that house offices of the local and central public administration.
Moreover, he has called on the Ministry of the Environment and the Ministry of Transport to draw up a programme whereby the car fleets of the local and central public administration, Government agencies and mainly state-owned companies to fall in line with the environmental protection standards of the European Union. Highly polluting vehicles used by the administration should be replaced with others less polluting, and this action will be regulated by the Transport Ministry, the Head of the Executive has further showed.
