Today, the Economy and Finance Ministry has put forward an informative report to the Cabinet members on the stage of launching and implementation of the Operational Programs financed from European funds, the Government Spokesperson, Mrs. Camelia Spataru has announced
“Prime Minister and the Cabinet members wanted to have a clear picture of Romanians' interest to attract European funds. They wanted to know the number of projects submitted, their value, and the “most attractive” fields, the Government Spokesperson has stated.
According to the data put forward by the Economy and Finance Ministry, 1075 projects have been submitted for the 7 operational programs, amounting to 13, 25 billion lei. “ There are projects aiming at the repair of county roads and urban streets, modernization and development of Danube and sea harbors, modernization and development of air transport infrastructure, improvement of social and educational services, supporting the development of micro-enterprises, tourist infrastructure, projects in the environment field”, Mrs. Camelia Spataru has stated.
249 of these 1075 projects have been approved, amounting to the overall 7, 65 billion lei (about 2,08 billion EUR). 6, 53 billion lei (about 1,77 billion EUR) of this sum represent EU funds.
