Today, the Government has approved the structures of the higher education institutions that are accredited or authorized to function provisionally, and the specializations' list in the areas of the licence academic studies
"We want to regulate more rigorous, starting with the school year 2005-2006, the specializations' list for the students," stated Mr. Dumitru Miron, the State Secretary in the Ministry of Education and Research. He showed that the structures and the specializations are periodically approved, because in the "organizational architecture of the universities appears new modifications, new faculties or the name of the faculties are changed". The specializations were approved accordingly to the organization of the schools, on domains, and the regulation was approved this year, said Mr. Miron Dumitru. Thus, will be choose only the specializations approved by the Government (see Annex 3), and the specializations that are not included in the annex of the normative document enter into liquidation starting with the session 2005-2006.
A novelty in the normative document provides that the repartition of the specializations that are accredited or authorized to function provisionally on faculties or departments is establish based on the academic autonomy, by the senate of the universities. The Senate chooses from this list and place these to the faculties, taking into account that it must have the approval of the National Council for Evaluation and Academic Accreditation in order to develop an accredited or authorized specialization to the respective faculty.
The list of specializations includes 77 domains, established at the proposal of the National Council for Evaluation and Academic Accreditation and the National Council of the Rectors. "We want to have some specializations more compendious, translatable in the moment when we will release the bilingual diploma's supplement," asserted the State Secretary Dumitru Miron. According to the legislation in force, the absolvent of 2005 will have diploma and supplement of bilingual diploma. This supplement will offers more information about the students' results during the schooling.
The new regulation establishes that starting with the year 2005-2006 will operate 56 accredited state universities, 29 accredited private universities, including those who are already accredited through individual laws, 6 post-academic universities and 264 specializations.
