Working Group to encourage electric vehicle manufacturing in Romania
On its today’s meeting, the Executive has decided on the setting up of an interministerial working group to elaborate a strategy to encourage electric vehicle manufacturing in Romania, Mr. Adriean Videanu the Minister of Economy, Trade and Business Environment has announced the end of the Executive meeting.
"As you know, the two car manufacturers in Romania, Renault and Ford - are among the pioneers of research into the electric car and I think it is a great opportunity, the idea of trying to develop and encourage the use of electric vehicle," said Minister Adriean Videanu .
The working group is chaired by the State Advisor Dan Lazar, who will be coordinating representatives of the Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, Ministry of Public Finance, Ministry of Environment and Forests and of the National Authority for Scientific Research.
The development of electrical car industry is part of the perspective of the new industrial policy that the European Union wants to promote after getting out of the recession and is among the priorities of the current Spanish EU Presidency, as a measure to combat climate changes.
At the same time, ecological economy is one of the priorities of the strategy for economic growth and jobs " EU 2020”.
The Interministerial working group for car pollution tax
It has been set up today, on Prime Minister Emil Boc’s request, in order to analyze possible amendments to the car pollution tax as of 2011, Spokesperson for the Government Mrs. Ioana Muntean has stated on a press briefing at the end of the Executive meeting. She has further added that the group will be coordinated by Minister of Environment and Forests, and it will comprise one representative of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Business Environment, Ministry of Public Finance, Department of European Affairs and an Adviser to the Prime Minister.
