PM Victor Ponta met with Nikolai Patrusev, the Secretary of the Russian Federation Security Council

Prime Minister Victor Ponta met at Victoria Palace with Nikolai Patrushev, Secretary of the Russian Federation Security Council.
The main topics of the dialogue reflected the common desire to promote a new stage in the bilateral economic relations, taking into account the priorities set by the Joint Economic Committee, whose works were held this year in Bucharest. During the meeting, there were discussed the prospects for cooperation in energy sector, Russian companies’ involvement in the transport and storage of energy resources projects and electricity generation projects with regional impact.
On this occasion, the Prime Minister mentioned to Russian official Romania’s obligations as EU member state, in terms of compliance with European legislation and policies in the field.
There was also expressed the openness of both sides to boost mutual investment, taking into account the opportunities offered by regional markets.
