PM Victor Ponta pays a visit to the French Republic (February 20-21)

A delegation of the Romanian Government led by Prime Minister, Mr. Victor Ponta will pay an official visit to France, during February 20-21, 2013. On this visit paid on Wednesday and Thursday this year, the Romanian Prime Minister will have official meetings with the President of the French Republic, Mr. Francois Hollande as well as with Prime Minister of the French Republic, Mr. Jean –Marc Ayrault. Also, PM Victor Ponta will meet with representatives of the 16 of the most important French companies.

Wednesday, February 20 (local time)

5.30 p.m. PM Victor Ponta meets with Mr. Harlem Desir, President of the French Socialist Party, and Vice President of the Socialist Group in the European Parliament;
6.30 p.m., PM Victor Ponta meets with Mrs. Elisabeth Guigou, President of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the French National Assembly;

Thursday, February 21(local time)

12.00 (noon), PM Victor Ponta meets with Mr. Francois Hollande, President of the French Republic;
12.45 p.m. PM Victor Ponta’s tete a tete with Mr. Jean – Marc Ayrault, Prime Minister of the French Republic, followed by working meeting.
By 2.40 p.m., the two Prime Ministers will held a joint press conference.
3.15 p.m. meeting with representatives of 16 most important French companies

On these meetings the Romanian PM will have in Paris, there will be addressed the issue of the re-launch of the Strategic Partnership between France and Romania; consolidation of economic ties between the two states and increase in the number of French investors and boost in the volume of French investments in our country (especially in areas: energy, agriculture and infrastructure), also, there will be addressed the issues relative to Romania’s accession to Schengen area, and recognition of meeting the technical conditions by Romania for accession to Schengen Area.
The Romanian Government and the Government of the French Republic share the same vision on the social and economic model which should be pursued for the development of the two countries, but also of the European Union as a whole. Solidarity, job creation and economic growth through investments will be principles shared by the two Governments, and they will represent an opportune fund for the discussions to take place between French and Romanian officials.
