Press statements by PM Victor Ponta after meeting with the President of the French Republic, Mr. Francois Hollande

Good afternoon. I want to tell you once again that it was an altogether special meeting with the President of the French Republic. I have reiterated the fact that Romania is not only the best partner, but the best friend of France in our region, that we are a Francophone and Francophile country and that we can develop and implement together all important projects for the future of the two countries and the future of Europe. It is a special relation which lasts for a long time, and which now, has absolutely all conditions to further develop at political, economic level and at the level of policy and new outlook on Europe which the European Union needs.
It was an altogether special occasion, and surely, following here discussions here with the President of France, with the French Government, with the most important French companies investing in Romania, the direction in which the French – Romanian relationship heads to, Paris – Bucharest axis which we always needed and we further need, will be to the benefit of both states. Thank you.
