On the occasion of "International Roma Day", Prime Minister Victor Ponta outlines that Romania needs to capitalize on the substantial experience in terms of social inclusion of Roma, and he condemns the anti-Roma discriminatory and extremist attitudes.
"Elimination of extremist attitudes and discrimination, and promotion of diversity and tolerance are important milestones in the work of Government that I am leading. Roma minority is an 'asset ' of the European Union, which may contribute to the European community if it receives the necessary support from policymakers.
On the occasion of International Roma Day ', I want to reaffirm, on behalf of the Romanian Government, the commitment to back the Roma minority in the social inclusion process, "said Prime Minister Victor Ponta.
Romanian Government expresses its intention to continue cooperation with both European partners and representatives of the Roma minority, to identify the best measures for the social inclusion of Roma citizens.
