Thus, later today, Prime Minister Victor Ponta had a discussion with President Traian Basescu and they agreed that the Prime Minister takes over the interim, and that the Head of the Executive will make a new nomination for the Justice portfolio, within 45 days, in accordance with laws in force.
With respect to the information in the press about the vacant seat of Minister of Justice, the Government Press Office is authorized to make the following clarifications:
Madam Minister Mona Pivniceru expressed her wish not to hold anymore this office in the Executive after tomorrow's Government meeting, in order to avoid any possible conflict of interest interpretation considering that she will fill the post of judge at the Constitutional Court.
